JUDGING PROCEDURES:

Judging for the Housing Design Awards is conducted entirely online, ensuring each submission is reviewed independently and fairly by our panel of judges. This format allows us to engage respected industry professionals from outside our region, further strengthening the integrity, objectivity, and credibility of the evaluation process.

Our judging panel is comprised of highly regarded members of Home Builders' Associations and experienced industry professionals from across Canada, including builders, renovators, architects, planners, interior designers, educators, and other qualified experts selected by the Housing Design Awards Committee. Each entry is carefully evaluated based on specific criteria outlined within its category, with a strong focus on design excellence, functionality, innovation, and overall execution.

To maintain consistency and fairness, all submissions are reviewed anonymously, ensuring that projects are judged solely on their merits. Following the evaluation process, up to five finalists may be selected in each category, representing the highest standard of achievement within the industry.

Please note that all judging for the competition, excluding the All Things Home People's Choice Award, will be conducted online through the Housing Design Awards platform. All submissions will be evaluated in accordance with the specific criteria established for each category. All decisions made by the judging panel are final.

Voting for the All Things Home People's Choice Award will take place online through a separate voting platform at gohbavote.ca. Finalists in the Special Achievement Award categories will automatically be entered into the People's Choice competition. A maximum of five finalists per category will be selected, for a combined total of up to twenty finalists. Public voting will be open from September 9 to October 2, 2026.
